How to reach

Arriving in Xian

Xi’an is in the heartland of China. You can arrive in Xi’an by plane or train.

Location of Xian city

By plane

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, 35 kilometers northwest of Xi’an, is the 8th largest international airport in China. There are direct international air lines connecting major Asia cities, including Seoul, Incheon, Nagoya, Tokyo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bankok, Hong Kong, Taipei, etc. The website of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport is: http://www.xxia.com/en/.  If you come from Europe, North America, South America, Africa or Australia, you could transfer in Beijing or Shanghai airports.

Transfer in Beijing Capital International Airport: There are 24 flights connecting Beijing and Xi’an every day. The website of Beijing Capital International Airport is: http://en.bcia.com.cn/Note that there are 3 terminals in the airport. Free ferry bus service is available between terminals. Information about free ferry bus is the following:

Beijing Bus Running Time:

  • 06:00 – 23:00: interval 10minutes
  • 23:00 – 01:00: interval 15 minutes
  • 01:00 – 05:00: interval 30 minutes
  • 05:00 – 06:00: interval 15 minutes

  • T1: outside Gate 7 F1
  • T2: outside Gate 7 F1
  • T3: Gate 5 F1

Transfer in Shanghai Pudong International Airport: There are 28 flights connecting Shanghai and Xi’an. The website is: http://en.shairport.com/pudongair.html. Note that there are 2 terminals in the airport. Free shuttles are available between terminals. Information about shuttles is the following:

  • Routes: T1 (Domestic Departure Gate 1 and International Departure Gate 8) to T2 (Domestic Departure Gate 23 and International Departure Gate 27)
  • Running time: 6:00~24:00, Interval 10 minutes

Important notice: there is another airport (Hongqiao International Airport) in Shanghai. The best way is to transfer in the same airport. The distance between Pudong airport and Hongqiao airport is far, it takes at least 90 minutes by shuttles or subway.

Shanghai Bus

By train

There is high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Xi’an. It takes about 5 hours and costs about 515RMB for second-class seat and 815RMB for first-class seat.

Moving around in the city

When you land at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, you could go to conference venue and hotels by taxi or bus.

Xian Taxi The direct way to the conference venue and hotels is by taxi.

  • Time: about 45 minutes
  • Price: about 180 RMB

Alternatively, you could first go to Bell Tower by shuttle (ticket: 25RMB) and then take bus or taxi for the rest of the route.

Note: there are 7 lines for shuttles. The destination for Bell Tower is Line 1. Please wait shuttle bus at the Platform 1.

There is bus stop nearby the shuttle destination (Bell Tower), you could select bus line 15 to Minleyuan (Chinese: 民乐园). The ticket is 1RMB. The conference venue and hotels are within 400 meters from the Minleyuan bus stop. If you take taxi from Bell Tower to the conference venue and hotels, the ticket is about 10RMB.
